HUNTING AT OAKHAVEN...
Deer Hunting
Deer hunting is offered on an exclusive basis during North Carolina's 2nd Muzzel-loading week and opening week of general firearms season, which occur in November. Guests will enjoy a 3 day hunt from elevated stands or established ground blinds and will be allowed to harvest one whitetail doe and one trophy buck. Antler width restrictions are strictly enforced unless prior permission is given for a management harvest. Oakhaven's guides will assist in recovery of downed game and processing of venison is available. Pre-scouting is done in an effort to increase our guests' odds so rest assured we will do everything we can to put you on a great shooter. Trophy deer in the 160-170" range have been harvested on this property with numerous bucks in the 135-145" range taken every year. Guests should be prepared for a wide temperature range, as fall weather in North Carolina is unpredictable.
Spring Gobbler Hunting
Guided hunts are offered April through mid-May. Since the elusive Wild Turkey can be found anywhere or anytime on the farm, Guests should be prepared for the physical demands of covering lots of ground during the hunt. Guests will be allowed to harvest two long-beard gobblers during their 3 day hunt.
Oakhaven Hunting Policies
Guests who hunt at Oakhaven agree that the only enjoyable hunt is one that offers safety. All hunters are required to follow NC game regulations and Oakhaven's Hunt Policy, and must conduct themselves in a responsible and safe manner. No game other than the designated type may be taken. No indiscriminate shooting is permitted. Guides will not allow anyone smelling of alcohol to hunt.
